Another video from our day in East Iceland is up and ready to view here. We are in the midst of a heat wave here in New England, so maybe a chilly drive through snow dusted mountains will give you some relief if you, too, are baking away. And yes, we at long last arrive at a gas station with a bathroom in this one. I remember how happy I was to be taking a break. We got cold cokes in bottles, a steamy hot pylsur, and we could visit the restroom. We were not the only adventurers there to use the facilities! There was actually a line. The moral of the story is use the bathroom every place where you have a chance, even if you don’t think you need to go.

In this video, we finish up the fjords and begin turning north towards Egilsstaðir. You see a final bit of wildly crashing waves and rocky coasts before we follow the road between snow capped hills and frequent waterfalls. A long tunnel is in this video, too, but I think it is kind of mesmerizing.

You can see sheep grazing, another Norwegian fish farm, and just the rugged and lonely beauty of East Iceland. We end this video at the hotel where we will be staying later that night. In the next segment of this day, we head to the small town of Seyðisfjörður up a mountain pass. See you then!
