Our first video of Day 11 is ready to view here. The weather is wet, again, and part of our drive is the same route we’d already traveled. However, you can see how quickly the landscape changes on the peninsula. We go from snowy mountains to autumn colored plains in just a few minutes.

We had a wonderful breakfast buffet at Langaholt Hotel that morning. They had authentic Icelandic foods, including fish, vegetables, cheeses, meats, pastries, and more. We end this video at a gas station in Borgarnes that had delicious sandwiches and bakery items.

We only made one other stop, and it was to double check the dash cam. We never intended to share all these videos with the public, and it was the first time we’d ever tried using a dash cam to record a long road trip. The camera was not the best one on the market. It moved around with every bump we hit. It cut out parts. The icons would suddenly change. When we returned home, it actually drained my car battery while I was parked in Salem, MA and left me stranded in a parking garage.
We learned a lot about what we wanted in a dash cam from the Iceland trip. For the Bulgarian adventure, we got a new dash cam with a lot more features. I hope our footage is better, the sound is better, and we can create even more fun videos. If you’re planning a road trip vacation, I recommend grabbing a dash cam. It has been a lot of fun reliving every moment.
Next time, we go to The Settlement Center in Borgarnes, and we head towards our tour of the lava tunnel. Happy adventuring!
