We did make one stop at the Stephan G. Stephansson (Stefán Guðmundsson) monument along Route 1. Born in Iceland, Stephansson immigrated to the United States and later to Canada. A poet and a farmer, he wrote about hard work, adversity, and life itself. Enjoy the view as we head closer to Reykholt and the home of Snorri Sturluson. Happy adventuring, everyone!
