The End

We’ve come to the final video of our Icelandic Ring Road adventure, and you can view it here. What a project this has been! From learning how to even make and upload videos to refining and automating to artistry, my husband has worked so hard creating this amazing scrapbook of our vacation.

In this video, we drive from Hotel Viking to Keflavik where it all began. We woke up to blustery winds and driving rain, but by the time we got to Keflavik, the weather had cleared somewhat. So, we decided to visit the Giantess Cave!

We followed her footsteps to the cave by the water where she resides. While the door was locked, we could hear her inside snoring and roaring. In summertime, children can visit and read stories, take photos, and admire the inside of her cave. Even adults feel tiny when stopping by her home. This Giantess is from the children’s book, Sigga and the Giantess by Herdís Egilsdóttir.

We decided to end our stay in Iceland with one last visit to the bakery where we started, Sigurjónsbakarí. Keflavik no longer felt so foreign as it did only ten days ago. We rounded the corner to find that our favorite little bakery had suffered an accident in the time we’d been away. Where once a glass window beckoned us in, now a board shuttered the building! We went inside to discover someone had driven into the bakery while we were on the island! Thankfully, no one had been injured. We enjoyed one final pastry and Americano before returning the car.

Iceland wasn’t quite through with her gifts to us, though, as we saw a rainbow from the airplane as we backed out of the gate. Then, we had clear skies for some gorgeous views of Greenland on the flight home. This trip was truly magical, and I will always be grateful I had the chance to visit Iceland. You can see photos of Iceland at the end of our video, as well.

My husband has added some fun to the intro of this final video, so check out the highlights, fun moments, and the adventures we have had with you, our amazing supporters and followers, during this project. Thank you so much for joining us!

Now, on to 2026. We will begin putting out our videos from Turkey and Bulgaria in late January, so stay tuned because you won’t want to miss some of the wild moments we had on that trip. Narrow roads, wild turns, snow, mountains, history, and so much more. Happy New Year everyone!
