The next episode of our driving videos is available here, and I am really excited about the next few because the scenery really changes significantly. In this video, we head south on the Ring Road on a beautiful day. The sky reflecting off the pools of water on the sides of the road really make me want to break out some watercolors. I loved this part of our trip because we had the ocean nearby on one side and the towering cliffs and mountains on the other side of the road. The South coast is a really great place to spend time exploring.

Our first stop was one of the big tourist waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss. It is right off the road, as you can see from the video. The parking lot is large, and there are kiosks available for payment. For this waterfall, you will absolutely want all of your waterproof gear (jackets, shoes, and pants) because you can walk behind the falls. It is muddy and wet, but the trail was not too hard to navigate if you have quality hiking shoes with good treads. I surprised myself by not having any issues walking on the trail. What a nice discovery!

A trail winds around the hills bringing you further down to Gljufrabui, another waterfall set into a crevice in the hills. Again, there are both rocky terrain and mud on the trails and the climbs to the waterfalls. We spent about an hour total in both locations.

The next and last stop for this video is the Eyjafjallajökull information point. It has a charming cafe, Faxi Bakery, which makes this place a really great spot to take a break. We enjoyed coffee and a cinnamon roll in the car because the cafe was packed! They also have restrooms available for customers. Outside, you can read about Eyjafjallajökull, see photos of the eruption, and learn how to pronounce the name!

We had a great time making this video, and my husband chose some epic Lord of the Rings style music for this one. We’ve included some photos, a video of the waterfall, and a few clips of us being…well, us. The scenery only gets more beautiful from here, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this next part of our trip!
