Some venues are really fun because of their location, I think. Situated right across from Fenway Park in downtown Boston, House of Blues is a mid-sized venue where the party starts in line, especially if the Red Sox are playing!

We went in the summer, and happened to go on a night when a baseball game was in progress. With cheering and jeering, shouting and singing, everyone on the street was having a great time. It really felt like a neighborhood get together even though many of us were there for different reasons than a baseball game.
While you do wait on the sidewalk for the doors to open, they get you in quickly. You can purchase seats or general admission at this venue. I was able to get general admission and contact them in advance for ADA seating for myself and my companion with no problems! Security kindly escorted us through the lobby, up the elevator and to our very comfortable seats in the ADA section. We had a great view and plenty of room. I also noticed staff asking others to please not stand in the ADA section which really helped out with mobility equipment.

The venue itself is artistic, and the sound was perfect. We really enjoyed seeing Ryley Walker and The Mountain Goats at House of Blues. There was lots of room to stand and dance for general admission, as well as plenty of seats. They also had special drinks themed with the show for that night! We had no trouble getting to the bathroom or leaving the building after the show, and every member of the staff was kind and fun. As I’ve mentioned before, I really love when the staff are having a fun night with us.

Plan your parking in advance, or take the MBTA as the streets around House of Blues can get hectic, especially if the Red Sox are playing. A variety of dining options are available nearby, as well. We had a great time at this venue and recommend that you try it out!
